My Poems: Distance

Posted in Poetry at 2:59 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

For all the people who have friendship problems and feel ‘distant.’ Looking back at it, the style needs some work. For so many people, close and far, who I may never see again:

Arrest Bush!

Posted in Epiphanies, Knowledge, Social Justice at 2:42 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am not someone hard on politics, but seeing it is such an important issue (a social justice issue I may add), it NEEDS to be addressed. Bloggers out there, write posts. People out there, talk about it. We need to pressure soon to be President Obama to arrest Bush and the Bush administration for war crimes, crimes against humanity and whatever else the Bush administration has been hiding to the public.

I am for peace, justice, love and for who ever holds it. Read the rest of this entry »

Book Review: Les Miserables, By Victor Hugo

Posted in Book Reviews, Knowledge, Literature at 10:42 pm by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo

Les Miserables is definitely a French epic. The vast and deep types of characters, the flawed hero, Jean Valjean, the ultimate story of redemption and the high idealism in spite of cruel realism is what grabs my attention in this book. It is a book that has at least one element every reader can relate to. Some moments grip your attention and others make you empathetic with the characters (be it Jean Valjean, Fantine or Cosette). It is a book that has great characters (in some ways), great plot and profound meaning. Something I would recommend to be read in high schools. The following quote I absolutely love and I have written down:

To owe life to a malefactor . . . to be, in spite of himself, on a level with a fugitive from justice . . . to betray society in order to be true to his own conscience; that all these absurdities . . . should accumulate on himself—this is what prostrated him. Read the rest of this entry »

***Updated: Few Misconceptions of Israelis and Palestinians***

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am not someone who promotes violence, war, religious fanaticism (i.e. as in leading to violence–to practice one’s religion with fervor for sake of the better good and not hurting others is okay…but in a balance.) and I am not saying I am extremely knowledgeable about the Palestine’s history, but there are some stereotypes that need to be cracked.

Palestinians/Palestinian Muslims that are considered anti-Semitic. –>They are not. Arabs ARE Semites, so this is an issue of justice, NOT race/ethnicity…

Chemistry in the REAL world (V)

Posted in Aqidah, Chemistry, Epiphanies, Islam, Knowledge, Quran at 7:00 pm by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

Here are some new ones I kind of got inspired to write:

Equilibrium: A+B<=>C+D

In an equilibrium reaction, the forward rate of reaction and the reverse rate of reaction are equal. That doesn’t mean nothing is happening, it is just both reactions are happening at the exact same rate and continually reacting, but there is not apparent change because the changes keep canceling each other out. In equilibrium, reactions will keep happening until it reaches this equilibrium point. Similar to the real world, when people spend too much money or live extravagant lives, there are those who are poor or generous to ‘equate’ or ‘reverse’ the ‘reaction.’ It will keep going back and forth until there will soon be a balance (where no one is too poor or too rich.) Or war–there will be those for it and against it, people who believe in religious conservatism and being extremely liberal. The reactions will keep going until there is an equilibrium or balance between the two ends. (Or we are screwed for eternity.)

Equilibrium– aA+bB<=>cC+dD –> Q= ([C]^c[D]^d)/([A]^a[B]^b) Read the rest of this entry »

Today’s Words of Wisdom #9

Posted in Character, Knowledge at 7:24 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

(I don’t know if I put this in an old post, because I did hear someone say the same thing awhile back, but…)

I was watching an old desi movie (which was not a love story. Wow!) and one guy said:

“It is simple to be happy, but it is difficult to be simple.”

Chemistry in the REAL world (IV)

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

(I seriously need to stop using the roman numerals. 4 and 6, 9 and 11 always confuse me….)

Anyway, let us start this post–

Thermodynamics–Entropy:

Anyone who took sophomore chemistry would remember one of the biggest rules of Chemistry–the law of entropy: disorder creates more disorder. This is very applicable to our world today. The U.S. economy is one, war and destruction, environmental natural disasters and instability, capitalism (requires more buy and spending to work–it cannot by its very nature by stable), and even friendships. If some friendships go wrong, it may keep getting worse and worse without outside intervention (random variables) but if things keep going the way they are without human beings changing, it will lead to more and more disorder. So people, for the sake of the WORLD, be better people!
