—Ayahs—

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I remember writing a lot of posts back that I would do a post on my favorite ayahs of the Quran. I realize that is probably impossible without saying the whole entire Quran. =) But There are some that hold a special meaning or attachment in my heart. (And insha’ Allah the whole Quran.)

Surah Fatihah: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds. The Beneficent, the Merciful. The Master of the Day of Judgment. Him alone we worship, and Him alone we ask for help. Show us the straight path. The path of those whom You favored; not the path ofthose who earn Your wrath or go astray.

Surah Ikhlaas: Say (Muhammad): He is Allah, the One. Allah, the eternally Besought of all! He does not give birth nor is He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him. (I LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!)

Surah Rahman: The Most Beneficent. He has taught mankind the Quran. He created man. He taught him (man) eloquent speech. The sun and moon run on fixed courses calculated exactly with measured out stages. And the stars and trees prostrate. And the heaven He raised high, and He has set up a balance. In order that you may not transgress that balance. And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficit. An the eart hHe has put for the creatures. Therein are fruits , date-palms producing fruit stalks.

Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny? [1-13]

“And yet there are some people,
who replace God with rivals,
loving them as God is loved.
But the believers love God more intensely
(2:165)

“It was made attractive to people,
the love of things they crave;
women, sons, heaped-up heaps of gold and silver,
branded horses, cattle and will-tilled land.
But that is for the enjoyment of this worldly life,
But God, with Him is the beautiful homecoming
(3:14)

Say: ‘O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls:
do not despair of God’s mercy,
for God forgives all sins.
It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’
(39:53)

(Getting frustrated with the formatting!!!)

God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The allegory of His light is that of a concave mirror behind a lamp that is placed inside a glass container. The glass container is like a bright, pearl-like star. The fuel thereof is supplied from a blessed oil-producing tree, that is neither eastern, nor western. Its oil is almost self-radiating; needs no fire to ignite it. Light upon light. God guides to His light whoever wills (to be guided). God thus cites the parables for the people. God is fully aware of all things. Surah Nur Ayah 35

There are loads more, but these are ones that are really coming to mind now. I’ll try to add more later, insha’ Allah.
