Assalamu Alaikum,

I am not someone who promotes violence, war, religious fanaticism (i.e. as in leading to violence–to practice one’s religion with fervor for sake of the better good and not hurting others is okay…but in a balance.) and I am not saying I am extremely knowledgeable about the Palestine’s history, but there are some stereotypes that need to be cracked.

Palestinians/Palestinian Muslims that are considered anti-Semitic. –>They are not. Arabs ARE Semites, so this is an issue of justice, NOT race/ethnicity…

Putting the Heart into Worship–Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

Assalamu Alaikum,

I was about to write this epiphany I had, but before doing so, I wanted to somehow check if it Islamically possible. So I found this lecture by Hamza Yusuf on Youtube and it completely shook me when he said the stuff I realized. I took notes on the videos, but after hearing them and looking back at my notes, I think it isfar much better if you hear it yourself. If you still want my notes, I can post them up, but it may take a while.

Another Excerpt-Have We Lost Ourselves?

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am currently *attempting* to do my annotated bibliography for my final (Sarah: You aren’t done yet?) and I opened a book underneath my desk. It was the sequel to my other journal that had the note from my younger self. The dates go back to when I was in 5th, 6th and 7th grade. Apparently at this time, my friends began to indulge themselves in many vain things, so this one particular entry was a response to them-and myself. (Pardon grammatical errors and cheesiness):

” I didn’t think 3 years ago this [self indulgence] would happen. Have we lost ourselves? I remember how I learned that people were like butterflies who grow within themselves and then sprout wings.
