A Letter to Muslim Chicks, Feminazis, Convertible Tops, Teenagers, and H**jabis

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

This letter has been on my mind to write, for I have been exasperated by the sheer lunacy of Muslim women trying to ‘liberate’ or ‘improve’ the view of women in Islam and the other group of women who let people trample on their rights. I am no scholar or jurist, but it is about time someone stands up and addresses this issue head on. This letter is in no way politically correct, as to avoid taking away the meaning of my message. If you cannot handle it, get out of the oven. If you have comments or remarks, you can comment in a rational and logical manner. This is just a rough draft, so the grammar may be horrendous and I may improve on it later. Otherwise, read, contemplate and even enjoy:

From the Desk of Faith786, future Dictator 4 Life and Emperor of the Free World:

Dear Muslim Chicks, Feminazis, Convertible Tops, Teenagers, and H**jabis,

I hope this letter reaches you in the best of Iman and health. I have more doubts in the latter than the former as some of you overindulge in eating or starve yourselves and completely neglect exercise. And some of your dietary habits are appalling. I won’t even take a shot that you probably condemn women who cook, and then you will go home to a freshly cooked meal by your mother. Read the rest of this entry »

Sufi Quotes!

Posted in Aqidah, Character, Epiphanies, Faith786's Favorites, Hadith, Islam, Knowledge, Literature, Poetry, Quotes, Sufism, Taqwa, Tazkiyah at 5:38 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum!

I have been reading my books and I found some of the most amazing Sufi poems/quotes/proverbs that I HAD to share. (I’ll add to the list as I continue reading.) I hope you enjoy them and get closer to Allah swt! (Oh some of the quotes are from the internet, but these quotes are meant for educational purposes as I can imagine the speakers would want us to learn from them.)

Open to me, so that I may open.
Provide me Your inspiration
So that I might see mine.

-–Rumi

I searched for God and found only myself. I searched for myself and found only God.

-–Sufi Proverb

There wouldn’t be such a thing as counterfeit gold if there were no real gold somewhere.

-–Sufi Proverb

If you make intense supplication
and the timing of the answer is delayed,
do not despair of it.
His reply to you is guaranteed;
but in the way He chooses,
not the way you choose,
and at the moment He desires,
not the moment you desire.

Islamic Quotes II

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

This is my next list of Islamic quotes. I like my first list the most, but I am finding it hard to find a good translation and I didn’t finish my Imam Al-Ghazali books. (Cough, cough, they are amazing, cough, cough.) Sorry if there are any repeats, but I do love Islamic quotes a lot! (I’ll add more in the next couple days insha’ Allah.) I hope you benefit from these too.

The company of a good friend is like an owner of musk; if you don’t buy anything, you will get the smell of it.
The company of a bad friend is like the blacksmith’s bellows; if you are not affected by its black dirt, you will be touched by its smoke.

Prophet Muhammed (saw)

Everyone who is taken by death asks for more time, while everyone who still has time makes excuses for procrastination.

–Ali Ibn Abi Talib RA

Everyone who is being overtaken by death asks for more time.
While everyone who still has time make excuses for procrastination.

Knowledge is my companion, it is with me wherever I go. My heart is its container, not the bookshelf.

–Ali RA

Indeed the whole world is imagination. Only He [Allah] is the real in Reality. Whoever understands this knows the secrets of the spiritual path.

–Ibn Arabi

Today’s Words of Wisdom 1

Posted in Aqidah, Character, Hadith, Islam, Knowledge, Sufism, Taqwa, Tazkiyah at 6:39 pm by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I spoke to a Shaykh recently. He told me once some believers went to the Prophet (sas) and asked if a believer can be a thief, prostitute, etc etc. and the Prophet said yes.

But then someone asked if a believer can be a liar–and the Prophet said:

No.

Love for Allah Lecture at CPSA

Posted in Aqidah, Character, Hadith, Islam, Islamic Lectures, Knowledge, Sufism, Taqwa, Tazkiyah at 12:58 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I am totally procrastinating my finals because I am horrified to find out there is a HUGE hole in my English paper, causing me to take out 4 pages, I cannot translate my Pus in Boots file, or the other passages for my Arabic final, and my psych final can go to jahanum from whence it came.

I’ll trust Allah that He’ll somehow make a means to help me do it.

Anyway, I am sorry for procrastinating these notes too; figure I better do something than nothing tonight. Btw, Sarah and I came a little late to the lecture, so my notes started when we came in. (Sarah, you are more than welcome to add to these)

Love for Allah Notes:
Insaan:

  • Ta’lif (education)-Light of Allah; Light of guidance
    • Hadith: Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.
    • ilm is inheritance from the prophets–>different knowledge was directed to different prophets
      • i.e. Adam (as)-knowledge of names of different things, Dawud (as)-iron welding, Yusuf (as)-interpretation of dreams, Muhammad (saw)-teaching.
      • Angels bowed down to Adam because of his ‘ilm (and God said so)
    • ‘Ilm can come from parents, school, people, etc.
    • Mandatory to seek knowledge of the deen
    • Respect for scholars raises one’s station
  • Tabreer (action on knowledge)/(development)

Islam: A Series of Fortunate Events: A Message for All of Humanity: A Call to Islam-Mufti Azeemuddin

Posted in Character, Hadith, Islam, Islamic Lectures, Knowledge at 12:33 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

Sorry for not posting for a while-midterms. Now that it is spring break, I’ll try to catch up on some notes I was supposed to type. I didn’t get to attend the second lecture of the series, but if I do get hold on someone else’s notes or get a recording of it, then I’ll try to type up those notes too.

I guess the lecture was called A Message for All of Humanity: A Call to Islam, but I think it was aimed towards Muslims (95% of the audience was Muslims) So the topic was more about Muslims rethinking their deen (meaning, the true value of it and how great Islam is).

Well, here are my messy notes. I got too lazy to edit them. I might later….

– Islam: A series of fortunate eventsàcoming of Rasulullah is really a fortunate event

– What did Rasulullah spend his life for? àQuran: We have sent you for the world(s) as mercy [to alliviate bad times, and bring peace]

– Alaminàencompasses everything (not just our world-worlds)

– Surah Fatihahàall praises to Allah for all the worlds (this dunyah and akhirah)

– Prophet (sas) was a source of mercy for everything in this world and hereafter

– Prophet (sas) teachings benefit everything (all different categories of life, human and non human)

– Purpose of Quran-Prophet uses the Quran to take people from darkness to light with the will of Allah. Read the rest of this entry »

Chambers of Etiquette, by Mufti Azeemuddin Ahmed at BU *(Part 3/4)*

Posted in Character, Fiqh, Hadith, Islam, Islamic Lectures, Knowledge, Quran, Taqwa, Tazkiyah at 12:22 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I GOT TO GO TONIGHT! Alhamdulillah! But I came about 20 minutes late, so I missed a little bit. I found out there are four lectures, not five, and that there were significantly a lot more people at this lecture series than the Surah Kahf ones. Well, whatever floats your boat, I suppose….

I apologize ahead of times that my notes are bad compared to Sarah’s. And I wrote in Sarah’s lecture notebook without her permission, and I am sorry for that too. Your pretty handwriting has been disturbed by my chicken scratches. But I thought it would look nice if that part of the notebook had all the Chambers of Etiquette notes together…. You can rip it out if you don’t like it.

I tried to copy hadith and ayahs down that the speaker was saying, but he spoke too quickly. So I paraphrased and I am perfectly aware that it isn’t the perfect translation. So when you see “Hadith:” or “Quran:”, it isn’t literally, but paraphrasing. Anyway, notes:

***Darul Hikmah: Revivers of Islam*** Protectors of Tradition-Shaykh Bilal Ali Ansari

Posted in Character, Hadith, Islam, Islamic Lectures, Knowledge at 12:19 am by faith786

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Assalamu Alaikum,

I FINISHED MY ROUGH DRAFT FOR MY ENGLISH PAPER (But I didn’t reread what I typed, oh well-someone else will. =) ) Anyway, I have time now and I should be studying for my Arabic exam, but ahh, oh well. =) These are Sarah’s notes for another lecture at the Revivers of Islam retreat. I think Allah swt took my notes away because they were bad and Sarah’s were better. It’s okay, I guess we learn more that way. =)
